Streaks are Meant to be Broken

Welcome to Fight for the Right! What I will be talking about in upcoming blogs is basically everything about fighting. If you are interested to know my philosophy and opinions about martial arts, then you have come to the right place! I will give you insight on what I think about fighting and martial arts. I have a wide knowledge about anything and everything related to martial arts. I will be making blogs every Friday. If I cannot, then the blog will be posted either the day before or after. These blogs will be interesting, fun, and will satisfy what you would like to read.

What I want to talk about right now is the controversy surrounding Floyd Mayweather. Back in May, he fought Manny Pacquiao in what was considered as an over-exaggerated and over-hyped fight. Mayweather was declared the winner by unanimous decision. However, a few weeks ago, Mayweather was found to have Nitro X, a stamina-enhanced drug, in his system during the bout against Pacquiao. As a result, the WBO reversed the decision, declaring Pacquiao the winner. Furthermore, Mayweather was stripped of the WBO Welterweight Championship. Mayweather's 49-0 undefeated streak has shattered to a 48-win, 1-loss record, his final record to his career since his contract is up.

This situation has the whole world talking and speculating. Some people say he deserves it; those people think he is arrogant, cocky, and full of himself. At the same time, some people feel this is not right. Although Mayweather is viewed as egotistic and presumptuous, he is a very hard worker and backs it up in the ring. So I don't blame him for having such a huge ego and flaunting his riches and success, he can boast all he wants. However, using steroids to be better than your opponent in the ring is not cool. Many people probably lost a lot of respect for Mayweather. There's a lot of speculation that he has been using drugs all his career, and if that is the case, he does not deserve all of the fame and fortune he has; he does not deserve to be a boxer, especially if the purpose to take the enhancer is to beat your opponents and win an "easy" fight. There are fighters that are currently working extremely hard to earn a name for themselves and do the best of their abilities. They put their blood, sweat, and tears for this living. Mayweather using steroids just nullifies what it is meant to be a true fighter and boxer, and throws "hard work" right out of the window.

But that's only one side of the story. Mayweather's side of the story must have some valuable information about this dilemma as well. So I give him the benefit of the doubt since the boxing commission, the media, and his acquaintances must be giving him so much grief and irritation. I am anticipating what's to happen next and how this conflict will culminate.

I'm really looking forward to making these blogs and I'm hoping for you guys to comment or reach me in any way if you have questions or anything in particular at all. This is going to be fun and intriguing!
